
Saturday 1st Team Fixtures & Results - 2012The First XI play in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League, which is the highest standard of league cricket in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hertfordshire. We are in Division 2 West. These Saturday games are 120 overs, and start at 11.30am (11.00am on the last 3 Saturdays of the season). Name: Michael Higgs (Captain)
Description: Michael is a young player who returned to the club a few years ago after a short spell with local club Dinton. He is an all-rounder who bowls left arm spin and last year developed a great bowling partnership with overseas spinner Jay. Topped the bowling averages last year with a decent 10.68. Favourite Shot: Driving on the up through the covers

Name: Sam Lachlan (Vice-Captain)
Description: one of the most experienced players in the division, being the only home-grown player to play in all of Thames seasons in the Home Counties league. Is an opening bowler who can lead from the front and rip through top orders with his clever movement of the ball. Can also open the batting and has chipped in with many vital knocks over the years.

Name: Manoj Parma (coach)
Description: Has been a stalwart for Thame at the top of the order since arriving at the club many years ago from India. He is Thames head coach and is known for his speciality at playing top class spinners. He is also handy with the gloves behind the stumps too, being one of the best keepers in the division.

Name: Jaydeep Bhatti (overseas player)
Description: Jay has been over from India the last two seasons and is a young all-rounder who specialises in left arm spin. He is coming over for his 3rd season this year hoping to keep up his continuous improvement. Jay also works on the ground during the summer preparing wickets that suits his bowling.

Name: Michael Beard
Description: Beardy is another one of Thames youngsters who plays a vital role in the first team. He is an all-rounder who opens the batting and bowls left arm medium-fast. He topped the batting averages last year. He is also currently involved with the Gloucestershire set-up and has made appearances for both their 1st team 2nd team.

Description: Ed is an aggressive batsmen and one of the older players in the team. He is known for coming in and spreading the field quickly. He is also a very athletic fielder who provides plenty of energy and banta.

Description: Will made his first team debut last year against Aston Rowant and is going to feature as huge part of the team this year. Is an opening bowler who is involved in the Oxfordshire junior set-up. Will is looking to make a huge impact this year and is another youngster who has come up through the Thame ranks.

Name: Pratik Patel
Description: Joined Thame last year and really got going at the end of the season scoring 3 vital knocks to aid the relegation survival. Is an opening batsmen and can also bowl right arm medium pace. Pratik is looking forward to this season hoping he can continue his form he ended with last year.

Description: Another one of last year’s signing. Seets is a left arm swing bowler and a middle order batsmen. Was devastating with the ball at the start of last year and is an enthusiastic fielder who can give everyone a lift.

Name: Ed Goggs
Description: another product of the Thame youth system. Ed’s a right arm seamer who is looking to break into the first team this year. He is involved in the Oxfordshire set-up and is very promising for the future.

Name: Ryan Murray
Description: Ryan is a young right arm off spinner and is a very attacking batsmen. He thrives on hitting the ball out of the ground.

Description: Chris is a promising young batsmen with a good technique. Made many appearances last year but will be given more important chances this year.
